Alfonso was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) during his formative years while growing up in Southeast Asia. At the time, he was unaware that many aspects of his daily life were influenced by TCM, such as the herbs commonly incorporated into traditional recipes.

His prior work in emergency medicine as a ski patroller has significantly shaped his comprehension of Western medical practices, while also enriching his understanding of acute care and patient management. This experience, combined with the philosophical and therapeutic principles of TCM, allows him to offer a balanced, integrative approach to healing—one that is grounded in scientific evidence while remaining attuned to the natural world.

Alfonso graduated with a Diploma of Acupuncture from Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He lives in Vancouver, BC and is a devoted surfer, snowboarder and freediver.
